The Joyful Noise
Coffeehouse started on November 1, 1991 with a sell-out crowd to hear Sally Rogers.
There were about 25 people who could not get in. Rather than turning them away,
Sally delayed the start of the concert for about 15 minutes and gave these 25 people a
mini-concert. They went away happy, even though they could not get in.
We may be the only
coffeehouse with a theme song. Lui Collins wrote a Joyful Noise Round for her first
performance at the coffeehouse and sang the song that night.
